I have 28 severe allergies, and a number of them can cause me to have anaphylaxis so I have to be very careful around food to make sure it is safe for me, and won’t make me very ill. I know I need to read every label, every time, and always ask lots of questions whenever we eat out. I always talk about my allergies, and my mum has made me see it in a positive way. She always says ‘allergies are life changing but they shouldn’t be life defining’ and I make sure I always do everything other kids can but stay safe doing it. Talking about allergies helps others to understand, and that’s really important!
