Parents struggling daily to plan nutritious meals for children with food allergies will be able to get some expert practical advice and treatments for managing feeding difficulties in children will be explained by Paediatric Allergy Dietitian Rebecca Brocklehurst.

Her talk will include a look at some of the causes of these problems, such as the role anxiety and sensory sensitivities can play. She will identify some of the factors which contribute to the difficulties, as well as help with planning optimum nutrition that caters for the restrictions of foods that need to be avoided.

Rebecca is a team member of the renowned Children’s Allergy Service of the Evelina London Children’s Hospital, where severely food allergic children are treated. Rebecca works closely with Specialist Paediatric Psychologists, where they see children with allergies and feeding difficulties in a joint diet/psychology clinic.

This innovative psychology service, set up with funding help from Action Against Allergy, was the first service of its kind in the UK when founded three years ago, and has achieved remarkable results. Rebecca’s talk will include some fascinating case study examples.
