Children's food allergies - how to manage them at home and at school

AAANational charity Action Against Allergy (AAA) will hold two workshops for parents of allergic children at the show on Saturday 22nd May.  It will be the first time such an event has taken place at the show.

The workshops will follow a similar programme to an acclaimed pilot series the charity has already held at a leading London teaching hospital.

The main advice will be on how to manage children's food allergies at home and at school.  There is some focus on nut allergies but children are allergic or intolerant to a wide variety of foods and the session will be equally relevant to them.  Parents will hear a talk by a leading specialist which describes:

  • What parents need to know about food allergy
  • The best approach to allergy management
  • Latest information about treatments

This will be followed by an interactive discussion with a clinical nurse specialist, giving parents the chance to raise their own particular worries.  The workshop will be rounded off with a general Q&A session and a workpack of useful information will be provided to each parent.

Please note that these workshops are for adults only, not accompanied by babies or children.
